Our teams include Speech and Language Therapists and Speech and Language Therapy Assistants. Speech and Language Therapists are members of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and the Health and Care Professions Council.
We help children with:
- Using and producing speech sounds
- Understanding and using language
- Putting words together
- Developing vocabulary
- Developing play and interaction skills
- Stammering/Stuttering
- Selective Mutism
- Feeding/swallowing
A mix of any of the above.
What we offer
We work alongside families and other professionals and:
- Provide specialist assessments
- Offer strategies and advice
- Offer groups and one to one sessions working towards individual goals.
- Provide a child-centred care plan.
Feeding and swallowing
Children with feeding and swallowing difficulties are referred for assessment by a doctor. Urgent referrals are seen within 48 hours and non-urgent referrals are seen within four weeks. All Speech and Language Therapists offering feeding and swallowing assessments have completed additional training in Dysphagia (feeding and swallowing difficulties).
Safeguarding
We work in partnership with safeguarding nurses and social services to safeguard children and to ensure that their needs are met. We may complete early help assessments or contact other relevant services if we have concerns or if a child is not being brought to appointments.
