Who we are
We’re a team of doctors, nurses and administrative staff who provide dedicated support to Looked After Children (including unaccompanied asylum seeking children and young people).
What does the term 'Looked After Children' mean?
A child who has been in the care of their local authority for more than 24 hours is known as a ‘looked after child’. Looked after children are also often referred to as children in care, a term which many children and young people prefer. We know that some people prefer the term ‘Children Looked After’ so we’ll use that on the rest of these pages
We work together with children, young people, carers, family members and other one-to-one workers helping to make sure Children Looked After achieve their dreams, supporting them in making good choices about their health.
We offer health checks up until 18 years of age and continued support to care leavers up until they are 25 years of age.
