The Disney Ward at Scunthorpe and Rainforest Ward at Grimsby provide care for babies, children and young people from birth to 16-years-old (19-years-old in some long-term conditions and complex neuro-disabilities), who require treatment for a range of general medical and surgical conditions, and those requiring care for their mental health.
We also look after children and young people who are coming into the hospital for surgery including maxillofacial, ophthalmology, dental, orthopaedics, urology and ENT. Both hospitals have a level two neonatal unit and a 24-hour paediatric assessment unit that provides expert assessment, treatment and short-term care of babies, children and young people.
We operate an open residency policy for parents and other visiting is currently suspended due to COVID. Visiting by other family members including siblings will need to be agreed with the ward manager or nurse in charge.
